The world of survival games offers a huge range of different games that are all worthwhile to explore. Meinmmo tells you 5 games with whom the entry into the genre succeeds in particular.

Why play survival games? The survival genre speaks like no other ancient survival of people. It plays with adrenaline and thrill, the desire to return and connects them with a degree of discover and creativity.

The Long Dark

• How hard is the survival? Moderate, you have to pay attention to food, temperature and nutrients.
• How easy I find connection? The Long Dark is a singleplayer.

What is the Long Dark? You play the pilot wants Mackenzie, who after a plane crash in the North Canadian wilderness of his partner Astrid Greenwood is disconnected after your airplane has been hit by a flash of light.

Why is it particularly good for beginners? In the story mode (Wintermute) you will be taken to the hand with the appropriate difficulty and slowly introduced into the most important mechanics of the game. Especially for genre newcomers this is a pleasant tutorial. The story mode also has no Permadeath function.

Have you took a little in the world, you can raise the difficulty or fall into the survival mode in which you experienced a sandbox without a real destination. So newcomers themselves can decide when they are ready for how much survival.

The Long Dark is not complete yet, some of the episodes are still missing and are constantly being developed. So the story has not yet been completed.

Subnautica

The criteria:

• How hard is the survival? Moderate. Drinking and food are a real problem in the beginning, but you can stay away from the biggest dangers.
• How easy I find connection? Very easy. The game explains all the mechanics and Grounded still has many players, also thanks to the Xbox Game Pass.
• Can I play with friends? Yes, in the coop with up to 4 players.
• Are there PVP? Not directly, but Friendly Fire is active, so you can beat you with friends.

What is Grounded? A mysterious incident when rioting in the garden ensures that you are shrinking to tiny little people and themselves are fressing for yourself.

You have to find out why you suddenly get so tiny and survive the typical dangers of a garden. Because your status as alpha-animal you have definitely lost. Spiders, ladybirds, a piercing bird and other aedier moves to the pell.

Bonus: Rust

Rust is not really a real good title for beginners to the survival genre. However, it is the current biggest survival game on Steam (via steamcharts.com) and is one of the most popular games of the genre. Meanwhile, Rust is even on PlayStation and Xbox.

In Rust, you often meet on enemy players who shoots you from life to claw your lot. The rule of thumb is: Nobody ever gives you anything and veterans advise you to get used to dying.

Nevertheless, Rust can be suitable for several reasons as an entry-level survival game.

Why is Rust suitable for beginners?

• Official servers are regularly reset (by WIPES), so a veteran permanently has an advantage.

• Survival mechanics and urge to survive are extremely pronounced.
